New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the victims of the Red Fort blast at Lok Nayak Hospital soon after returning from his visit to Bhutan. He spoke to the injured and their families, expressing deep grief over the tragedy.
A powerful car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening killed at least 12 people and left several others injured. The explosion took place just 300 metres from the historic monument.
Soon after the blast, PM Modi had assured the nation from Bhutan that all those behind the attack would be punished. He is now set to chair a key Cabinet and high-level security meeting to review the situation.
So far, 15 people have been arrested and three detained by central and state agencies. Investigations revealed that the car was being driven by a doctor from Al-Falah University in Haryana’s Faridabad.
