Bastar Olympics 2025: Enthusiasm of players gathered in Sukma, Minister Kedar Kashyap took oath of sportsmanship.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap inaugurated ‘Bastar Olympics’ in Sukma. This time 43 thousand players have registered. The minister linked sports with peace, development and the future of Naxalism-free Bastar.

Raipur. Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap grandly inaugurated the block level ‘Bastar Olympic Sports Competition’ at Hadma Stadium located at Sukma district headquarters. He administered the oath to the players to play in the true spirit of the game and follow the rules. Shri Kashyap boosted the enthusiasm of the players by inaugurating tug of war and volleyball competitions. Many officials including the Collector were present on this occasion.

43 thousand players got registered, unprecedented enthusiasm

This time there is tremendous enthusiasm among the players regarding the competition. Minister Shri Kashyap said that this year 43 thousand players have registered in Bastar Olympics, which is more than last year. This event is being organized simultaneously in Sukma, Konta and Chhindgarh development blocks.

Minister Shri Kashyap said that sports are very important for mental and physical development in life. Referring to the Women’s Cricket World Cup, he said that Indian women players have brought glory to the country at the global level. He said, “These games are a golden opportunity for you, play it to your full potential and give your best performance.”

Increasing popularity of Bastar Olympics: Last year 1.65 lakh, this time 3 lakh participants

Last year, 1.65 lakh participants had participated in Bastar Olympics, whereas this time the number has reached more than 3 lakh. This figure shows the increasing popularity of this event and the growth of sports culture of Bastar.

Government’s commitment: Resolve to make Bastar free from Naxalism

Forest Minister Shri Kashyap said that the priority of the government is to completely free Bastar from Naxalism. He said that the players of Sukma will represent not only the district but the entire Chhattisgarh. He said that Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma has also laid special emphasis on the rehabilitation and development of Bastar region.

On this occasion, Women Commission member Ms. Deepika Sori, senior public representative Mr. Dhaniram Barse and many distinguished guests were present.
