Amidst the second and final phase of voting in Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, interesting and unique pictures of the festival of democracy are emerging from various districts of the state. In Katihar and Kaimur districts, young farmers, showing their rural identity, came riding on buffalo to cast their votes, which became a topic of discussion among the local people. These farmers gave the message that even difficult roads or lack of means cannot reduce their enthusiasm for voting.
Katihar: ‘Animals are the identity of our village’
The first unique picture of democracy emerged from the upgraded middle school Sirsa polling station of Katihar. The young farmer here, Anand, came riding on his animal to vote. This center was about two and a half kilometers away from his house.
While talking to the media, Anand, who has a rough and tough personality, said, “We are identified with our animal, that is why we are going to vote sitting on it. It is a festival of democracy, it is important to participate in it.”
The villagers described this scene as a part of the real culture of the village. He said that buffalo is the strongest support in difficult roads and muddy areas, and this act of joy reflects the culture of the village. Many villagers also captured this moment in their mobile cameras.
Kaimur: Similar picture seen in Adhaura also
Not only in Katihar, some voters in Adhaura in Kaimur district also reached the polling booth riding on buffalo. This unique glimpse was also seen in Adhaura of Chainpur assembly of Kaimur district, which added a new color to the festival of democracy.
Amidst the war of words and big promises of the leaders in the Bihar elections, these farmers gave the message that the enthusiasm of voting in rural areas and the simplicity of rural lifestyle still remains intact.
