What is the whole matter?
The whole controversy started with a viral video of Union Minister Lalan Singh. In this alleged video, Lalan Singh is talking about stopping opposition voters from voting. While sharing this video on social media, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had accused the Union Minister of influencing the democratic process and violating the code of conduct.
Election Commission sent notice, 24 hours ultimatum
The Election Commission has also taken prompt action in the light of the viral video and controversial statement. A notice has been sent to Lalan Singh by the Chief Election Commissioner of Bihar. The Election Commission has considered the statement of the Union Minister as a possible violation of the code of conduct.
Lalan Singh has been given only 24 hours to present his explanation. Now it remains to be seen what clarification Lalan Singh gives to the Election Commission in this matter just before the voting.
It was difficult to take charge of Anant Singh
This incident has happened when Mokama’s strong leader and JDU candidate Anant Singh is in Beur jail in 14-day judicial custody in the Dularchand murder case. After Anant Singh went to jail, Union Minister Lalan Singh himself took charge of this election. Recently, while appealing to the workers, he had said that in the absence of Anant Singh, we have taken the responsibility of Mokama elections in our hands, and every person of the public should contest the elections as Anant Singh. Lalan Singh was continuously seeking votes for Anant Singh, but now after the FIR has been registered in case of violation of code of conduct, this hot seat of Mokama has become embroiled in even more controversies.
