According to a PTI report, the auction for IPL 2026 will be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. A senior official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) himself has given this information. After the mega auction held in Saudi Arabia last year, this time a mini auction will be seen. A senior BCCI official told PTI, ‘Abu Dhabi has been selected as the auction venue.’

According to the report, the auction is likely to be held on December 15 or 16. IPL auction has always been the center of excitement. Fans always wait eagerly to see which player their favorite team will buy. However, before the auction the trade window is also open, under which players can be exchanged. But this window will also close 7 days before the auction.

Will the team change before the auction?

A big change can be seen under the trade window before the mega auction of IPL 2026. According to the report of Cricbuzz, the deal of Sanju Samson in exchange of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran is almost finalized. Sanju Samson can join Chennai Super Kings before the auction. At the same time, Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran can enter Rajasthan Royals.

Let us tell you, trade window is the time during which any IPL franchise can exchange players with other franchises. All 10 teams use this window to strengthen their weak links. This window starts exactly 7 days after the end of the IPL season and closes 7 days before the auction.
