Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon were a successful on-screen pair during the 1990s. The actors, who were rumoured to be dating, worked together in several films, including their hit film Mohra . Back then, media reports suggested that the duo was secretly engaged for a brief period before parting ways.
Twenty-two years after Police Force: An Inside Story, Akshay and Raveena have finally reunited for a Bollywood film. They will be seen in Welcome to the Jungle. In an interview, director Ahmed Khan shared how the actress reacted when learned Akshay was doing the same project.

Speaking to Mid-Day, Ahmed revealed that his decades-long friendships with Akshay and Raveena helped him bring the duo on board for . The filmmaker added that they have known each other for over three decades and know what has happened in each other’s lives.
When Ahmed was asked if it was difficult bring the Mohra actors back for a film, the director readily took that task as a fan service. He believes people want to see Raveena and Akshay together, “so, why not do a fan service?” The director also told the publication that Raveena had no reservations when she learned about Akshay doing this comic-caper. “She said, ‘So what? We are all actors and grown up. We are all friends and we will have a blast on the sets,” revealed Ahmed.
The Welcome to the Jungle director further reflected on Akshay and Raveena’s dance sequence in Welcome’s third installment. It has been choreographed by Prince Gupta and Rahul Shetty. Ahmed revealed whole set clapped, while Suniel Shetty said “Arre, mere Mohra ki jodi aa gayi.” The actor was a part of the 1994 film.

Recalling Akshay and Raveena’s off-screen equation on Welcome to the Jungle set, the director revealed the duo joked and fun like friends, and even talked about their children. “We reminisced about the past and work from earlier movies,” he added.
For the unversed, Akshay has been married to Twinkle Khanna for 25 years. They are blessed with two children – son Aarav and daughter Nitara. On the other hand, Raveena got married to Anil Thadani in 2004, and they are parents to Rasha Thadani and Ranbirvardhan Thadani.
