Kangana Ranaut calls out disrespectful narrative against successful and powerful women: ‘People say she slept with someone…’

Kangana Ranaut returned to the big screens with Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, where she played the role of a nurse. The actress recently reflected on her career and also talked about successful women in other fields. She remarked that society judges a woman after her success and tries to belittle them.

While speaking to Navbharat Times, Kangana commented, “We often see that when a woman achieves success, people claim she must have slept with someone to reach that position. Whether she is a state governor, a Supreme Court lawyer, or a woman holding a top post, instead of acknowledging her achievements, attempts are made to belittle and undermine her.”

This is not the first time Kangana has made a strong statement about how society treats women. Earlier, the actress shared that nurses are frequently “sexualised” and stereotyped despite their crucial role in healthcare. In a conversation with ANI, Kangana said, “Badlaav hona chahiye logon ke jo bhaav hai unke liye usme badlaav hona chahiye. I think it is the most sexualised profession.”

In the same interview, Kangana shared her views on the dress code followed by nurses. “I feel that the dress code of British nurses is still in use. Our nurses, like doctors, can wear whatever they want to wear; they get a code. But our nurses, whether the weather is hot or cold, in a way, have a foreign look. This is my personal opinion. But in this film, we have worked with integrity and dignity. The shape and size don’t matter, your uniform is your duty,” Kangana added.
