The Federation of Western India Cine Employees banned amid his fallout with the makers of Don 3. Following the success of Dhurandhar in 2025, the actor left the project, putting it on the back burner indefinitely. Announcing the verdict in Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, the FWICE put across the demand that the actor should compensate the losses incurred. As per the production house, technicians and other crew members had started working on Don 3, but Ranveer backed off just three weeks before flying out of India for the shoot.

In an official statement, Ashoke Pandit, the chief advisor of Federation of Western India Cine Employees, said in a statement to PTI that Farhan and Ritesh raised a complaint with the director association, saying that they had invested Rs 45 crores in Don 3’s pre-production work. “Just three weeks before the unit was supposed to leave for the shoot, Ranveer Singh withdrew from the film and he left the film,” he shared.

Ashoke Pandit claims Ranveer never responded to meeting summons
To address the matter promptly, Farhan and Ritesh had a meeting with the film body and Ranveer was also called to present his side. However, despite multiple reminders and meetings, he never responded. After taking a month, the actor wrote a letter to the stating that the matter was not in its jurisdiction. “Then he wrote a letter saying it is not in our jurisdiction, so, there’s not a proper forum to take this call. So then we had an office bearers meeting and all that, we said that we should non-cooperation because if he feels that the Federation is not the right forum,” Ashoke told PTI.
ended his statement by saying, “We have made an appeal to him, to all the producer bodies, to get together and see to this trend, which is a very dangerous trend of anybody leaving a project.”

After the ban was announced, Ranveer’s team issued a statement. It read, “Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect.”

The team further addressed multiple narratives and speculations that surfaced over time. The spokesperson defended Ranveer, claiming that he never considered it necessary to respond publicly to the case as his focus remains firmly on his work and the upcoming commitments.
Ending the statement, the team shared, “He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance.”
The ban on Ranveer will be lifted after he compensates Excel Entertainment with Rs 45 crore, as per the demand.
