Ranveer Singh appears to have chosen silence amid the raging Don 3 controversy.
As the fallout over his exit from Farhan Akhtar’s much-awaited film continues to dominate Bollywood circles, new reports suggest that the actor has decided to stay away from the media for a long stretch.
According to reports, Ranveer has reportedly decided not to speak to journalists or give interviews until the release of his next film, Pralay, directed by Jai Mehta.
A trade journalist was quoted as saying that he had personally met Ranveer and that the actor told him he would not comment on the Don 3 controversy or give any interviews for at least 18 months.
If true, the decision marks a major image-control move from Ranveer at a time when his fallout with Farhan Akhtar has become one of Bollywood’s biggest talking points.
Reports claim that Ranveer walked out of Don 3 due to creative differences with the makers. Some reports also suggested that the actor was unhappy over repeated production delays and the absence of a fully locked script.
Farhan Akhtar’s side, however, reportedly claimed that Ranveer exited the project just days before filming was scheduled to begin, causing financial losses.
The matter later escalated into a legal dispute, with Excel Entertainment reportedly demanding Rs 45 crore in compensation from the actor.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees had also issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer, though it has now been revoked.
Interestingly, Ranveer’s reported 18-month media silence will also cover a major personal phase in his life. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone announced their second pregnancy in mid-April 2026.
On the work front, Ranveer will next be seen in Pralay, a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller directed by Jai Mehta, son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta.
The film is said to be set in a crumbling, post-apocalyptic Mumbai and will reportedly use AI-driven visuals to create the devastated cityscape.
Jai Mehta, who earlier co-directed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Lootere, will make his theatrical directorial debut with Pralay.
The film is being co-produced by Hansal Mehta and Sameer Nair’s Applause Entertainment. Reports suggest that the script has been finalised and the project is expected to go on floors soon.
For now, Ranveer seems to be letting silence do the talking as the Don 3 storm continues to rage.
