Nandini Reddy’s action film starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Maa Inti Bangaaram, was released in theatres this Friday. The film created by Raj Nidimoru of Raj & DK-fame tells the story of a woman who tries to safeguard her family from her violent past.
The film’s openings have beaten the day 1 collections of films such Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s previous film, Yashoda, Anushka Shetty’s Ghaati and Rashmika Mandanna’s The Girlfriend. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 5.35 crore net in India on its opening day across 2,658 shows.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s action drama Maa Inti Bangaram has started its theatrical run on a strong note. The film also enjoyed a solid response overseas, earning approximately Rs 4.50 crore from international markets on Day 1. This took its worldwide gross collection to Rs 10.70 crore. With its Day 1 performance, Maa Inti Bangaram has set a new benchmark for Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s solo-led films. The Nandini Reddy directorial has surpassed the opening-day collection of Yashoda, which earned Rs 3.06 crore net in India when it was released in 2022.

The film has also outperformed several recent female-led releases at the box office. Anushka Shetty’s Ghaati opened to Rs 2 crore, while Rashmika Mandanna’s The Girlfriend collected Rs 1.30 crore on its first day. In addition, Maa Inti Bangaram has gone past the opening of Samantha and Nandini Reddy’s successful 2019 collaboration Oh! Baby, which had registered a Day 1 collection of Rs 2.5 crore.

The Telugu version led the film’s domestic performance, collecting Rs 5.15 crore net while recording 37 percent occupancy across 2,040 shows. The Tamil version added Rs 20 lakh net from 618 shows with an occupancy rate of 15 percent. Together, the film’s total India net collection stood at Rs 5.35 crore. Theatre Occupancy levels improved as the day progressed. Morning shows recorded 26.15 percent occupancy, which rose to 36.15 percent in the afternoon. Evening shows saw 40.15 percent occupancy, while night shows posted the highest turnout at 51.38 percent.

Region-wise, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed the highest share with Rs 4.75 crore gross. Karnataka added Rs 90 lakh, while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 38 lakh to the film’s Day 1 collection.
Alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Maa Inti Bangaram features Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, and Gauthami in pivotal roles.
