Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL), in a big step before its second season, has appointed Bahrain team coach Tejnarayan Prasad Madhav as technical director. The season will start from December 2, in which 64 matches will be played.

In a big step ahead of its second season, Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) has appointed experienced Kabaddi expert Tejnarayan Prasad Madhav as the technical director of the league. Madhav, who is currently the head coach of the Bahrain National Kabaddi team, will now take charge of the technical operations and player development framework of UPKL.

From grassroots level to professional, UPKL will give new direction to Kabaddi

The UPKL, which is operated by SJ Uplift Kabaddi Pvt Ltd, aims to professionalize Kabaddi and strengthen the roots of the game in Uttar Pradesh. Company founder and director Sambhav Jain said,

“UPKL has now become a strong and credible platform that showcases the potential of Kabaddi both at the grassroots and professional levels. Our focus this season will be on player development, technical excellence and setting the highest standards of the game.”

Tejnarayan Prasad Madhav’s experience will become the strength of UPKL

Tejanarayan Madhav is an experienced name in the field of Kabaddi. He has not only been a player and coach, but has also made his mark as a technical officer at the national and international level. He has played an important role in events such as the Senior National Kabaddi Championship, 50th Junior Nationals, and Asian Games Camp (2010). Apart from this, he has also been a part of the gold medal winning team in India-Bangladesh series 2004.

Regarding his new role, Tejnarayan Madhav said,

UPKL season 2 will start from December

UPKL Season 2 will start from December 25, 2025 in Noida, in which about 64 matches will be played. Player auction will be held in Noida on 3rd November.
