Dev Uthani Ekadashi Vrat Recipes: Dev Uthani Ekadashi, also known as Prabodhini Ekadashi, is celebrated like Diwali in Hindu religion. On this day Lord Vishnu wakes up from four months of Yoga Nidra and with this the auspicious works begin. On this day, marriage of Lord Vishnu and Mother Tulsi and sugarcane puja is also organized. Devotees observing fast on this day prepare satvik and fruit-based food and offer it to God and consume it as Prasad, so that both body and soul remain pure. If you are also fasting on this day, then make these five dishes at home which can be offered to Lord Vishnu and Mother Tulsi.

Rajgir Laddus

Rajgira i.e. Amarnath seeds are one of the main grains eaten during the fast. Laddus made from this are not only tasty but also healthy. Make lye from Rajgir seeds and add jaggery syrup to it and mix well. Before the mixture cools down, make it into small laddus. This laddu will not only give energy during the fast but will also add sweetness to the mouth.

Water chestnut halwa

Water chestnut flour is considered very useful during fasting. The halwa made from it is a combination of both taste and health. Fry the flour in ghee until it turns golden, then add milk and a little sugar to it. When the pudding becomes thick, add cardamom powder and chopped nuts to it. Water chestnut halwa is not only delicious but it keeps the body warm and also quenches hunger during fasting. Also, this is a very easy to make and delicious dish that can be prepared in less time.

Makhana Kheer

Makhana i.e. kheer made by cooking fox nuts in milk tastes no better than nectar. Boil milk and add makhana roasted in ghee to it. After some time, when the makhana becomes soft, add sugar and cardamom. To thicken the kheer, add roasted makhana and cashew powder. Cook for some time until everything is cooked well and serve cool or lukewarm. Makhana kheer is rich in protein and fills the body with energy on the fasting day.

Peanut Chikki

If you want to eat something crunchy and sweet, then there is nothing better than peanut chikki. Melt the jaggery on low flame and add roasted peanuts to it and mix well. Then put the mixture in a plate, let it cool and cut it into pieces. This snack gives instant energy during fasting and keeps the stomach full for a long time.

At the end of the fast, sweet prasad is offered to Lord Vishnu. For this, it is very easy to make Kalakand at home. Cook the milk on low flame and when it thickens, add sugar and a little cheese or khoya to it. Keep stirring continuously until the mixture becomes dry. When the mixture becomes sticky, take it out in a mold or tray and let it cool and then keep it in the refrigerator to set. After 1 hour, take it out from the fridge and cut the Kalakand into desired shapes.
