Manoj Bajpayee-starrer The Family Man has emerged as one of the iconic OTT franchises since its debut. The critically acclaimed spy thriller impressed audiences through its perfect blend of action, suspense, and humour, making it one of the most sought-after Indian web series in recent years. While fans eagerly await the next instalment, Raj Nidimoru, of the filmmaker duo Raj and DK, who created the series, recently revealed that was not the first choice for the show.

While speaking to IdleBrain Jeevi, Raj Nidimoru shared that the story was written with a different actor in mind. He revealed that initially, Telugu superstar was supposed to headline the project. He further shared that it was scheduled to be a film, but later the project took a different direction. He revealed, “Chiranjeevi was our first choice for The Family Man. We initially wrote the story with him in mind and planned to make it a feature film. However, due to various reasons, the project later evolved into a web series.”
The Family Man was first released in 2019 and has since grown into one of India’s most successful OTT franchises. The gripping spy thriller evolved into a larger universe over the years, with subsequent seasons introducing bigger names such as Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Nimrat Kaur.

When asked about the future of the franchise, Raj also opened up about the larger vision behind the Season 3 cliffhanger. He shared that the creators have a much bigger story planned and described the ending as a midpoint pause more than a conclusion. He also added that work on Season 4 is already underway, hinting that fans may not have to wait as long for the next instalment.
Meanwhile, could mark the end of The Family Man franchise during a conversation with News18. He said, “Contractually, if you see, our contracts are ending after the fourth season. I don’t know, ho sakta hai Prime Video ko achanak se lage, thoda zyada paisa dekar hi sahi, magar lekar aate hain (laughs). Who knows? Yaa, fourth is something where we have to conclude this story, and after that it is up to Prime Video if they wish to continue.”
