India are currently taking on Afghanistan in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
This is an impoetant match for the Men in Blue as a win would propel them to a series victory, with a match to go. India were put in to bat first after they lost the toss to the Afghan side. However, they scored 402. Most of the credit for this dominant batting performance for India will go to Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, who both scored centuries and put on a mammoth partnership for the third wicket.
Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan put on a massive partnership of 224 for the third wicket. Both managed to score centuries. While Kishan slammed his ton in 71 deliveries, Gill did so in 77 deliveries. This is now the first instance that two batters from India smashed hundreds in the same innings in under 80 balls. Overall, this is the 8th instance in the world to do so.

The partnership between Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer is now the joint second-highest partneship for any wicket by a team against Afghanistan in ODI history. This is also the third 200+ stand in ODIs against the Afghans.
