Star American musician Travis Scott was caught in the crossfire in the Virat Kohli vs Travis Head IPL 2026 controversy following a social media gaffe in which some Indian supporters posted derogatory remarks against Head beneath Scott’s posts.
What began as an on-field argument during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL 2026 match has since turned into widespread internet taunting, with supporters bombarding Scott’s Instagram comments section with insults directed at Head.
Given that Scott has nothing to do with the IPL 2026 scandal, the strange confusion has left social media users in disbelief. On Scott’s Instagram page, which has over 59 million followers, trolling persisted despite numerous users pointing out the error. The show highlighted the negative aspects of online fan culture once more, where anger frequently proliferates more than information.
The social media frenzy coincides with allegations that, during Friday’s tough IPL 2026 match, Head and his wife Jessica experienced severe online abuse.
Kohli and Head’s Altercation Spark Massive Social Media Drama
During Bengaluru’s chase, and Head had a verbal altercation that sparked the dispute. According to sources, the latter advised Kohli to play more attacking strokes. In response, Kohli sarcastically challenged Head to bowl himself even though he was an Impact Player.
Tensions seemed to persist during the post-match handshakes when Kohli was bowled for 15, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost badly by 55 runs. Kohli ignored Head’s extended hand as he greeted other Sunrisers Hyderabad players. The incident became viral on social media.
“I woke up to my socials blasting… we are fine, but they are attacking my friends and family. It feels like a repeat of the abuse that happened after the World Cup,” Jessica said while speaking to The Advertiser.
She also recalled similar events following Australia’s victories over India in the World Test Championship final, the 2024 Boxing Day Test, and the 2023 ODI World Cup final.
