Ram Charan’s film Peddi has been embroiled in controversy ever since it was released on June 4, 2026. Following the film’s release, while one section of the audience loved Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s performances, others pointed out how Janhvi Kapoor’s character was used for hypersexualisation. Amid the ongoing criticism, the film’s director, Buchi Babu Sana, revealed that Peddi is set for a re-release. Scroll down to check the dates.
When will Peddi re-release on big screens?
According to director Buchi Babu Sana, the re-release version of Peddi will hit the big screens on June 17. The updated version of the film will have three scenes that were omitted from the original theatrical release. Two of these scenes will be centred on Achiyyamma, while one will feature veteran actor Jagapathi Babu.
During one of the success meetings held in Hyderabad on Sunday, June 14, Buchi Babu Sana shared details about the changes that have been made to the film.
“We have already edited it. They will be added from this Wednesday. We have added a total of three scenes. There will be scenes related to the heroine and also one scene for Jagapathi Babu. All the missing elements will be included in it,” Buchi Babu Sana said.
The filmmaker said that the added footage will help audience better understand Achiyyamma and strengthen the emotional arc of the character.
“There are two more scenes related to Janhvi’s character. After watching them, the audience will connect even more with the character. I believe that with that, Janhvi’s character will reach another level,” he said.
