Earlier on Friday, as soon as Amitabh Bachchan received the news of Pandey’s demise, he remembered him through his blog. In his blog, Big B had described Piyush Pandey as a very friendly friend and mentor and had written, “We have no words to express our grief.”

Piyush had written many popular advertisements including Pulse Polio’s ‘Do Boond Zindagi’ to Cadbury’s ‘Kuch Khas Hai’. Piyush Pandey was also the writer of Doordarshan’s popular song ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’. He also made his acting debut with the film ‘Madras Cafe’, which was released in 2013. In 2016, the Government of India honored him with Padma Shri. He was honored with the Legend Award during the London International Awards in 2024.
