According to religious beliefs, there is an idol of Lord Shiva in the crematorium because he is considered the lord of the crematorium, the god of “killing” and “moksha”. Lord Shiva is considered the destroyer of the universe and the giver of salvation. That’s why they reside in the cremation ground.
