Tulsi Vivah Shubh Muhurat 2025: The festival of Tulsi Vivah is considered very important in Sanatan Dharma. This festival is celebrated on the Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. On this day, the marriage of Mata Tulsi with the Shaligram form of Lord Vishnu is done with full rituals. With Tulsi Vivah, the four-month long Chaturmas ends and all the auspicious activities like marriage, mundan etc begin. This year, there is a dilemma among some people regarding the date of Tulsi Vivah whether it is on 2nd November or 3rd November. Tulsi Vivah 2025: Exact date and auspicious time
- According to the Panchang, Tulsi Vivah takes place every year on the Dwadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month.
- Kartik Shukla Dwadashi Tithi will start: 2 November 2025, Sunday, at 7:31 am.
- End of Kartik Shukla Dwadashi Tithi: 3 November 2025, Monday, at 5.07 am.
Therefore, the date of Tulsi Vivah is falling on 2nd November 2025, Sunday.
Reason: Since the sunrise of Dwadashi Tithi is on 2nd November and it is considered auspicious to observe fast and worship on Udaya Tithi itself, hence the festival of Tulsi Vivah will be celebrated on this day.
Tulsi Vivah Puja Vidhi
Tulsi Vivah is worshiped in the evening and all the rituals are performed like any normal marriage.
Preparation of the pavilion: First of all, install the Tulsi plant in the courtyard, balcony or place of worship of the house. Decorate the basil pot with ocher and lime. Decorate a small mandap with sugarcane or any other material by making beautiful rangoli around the plant.
Makeup of Tulsi and Shaligram: Tulsi Mata Offer red chunari, bangles, saree and all makeup items (like bindi, mehndi, kajal etc.) to the goddess. Place Lord Shaligram (which is the idol form of Lord Vishnu) on the right side of the Tulsi pot.
Bath and Tilak: Bathe both Tulsi Mata and Shaligram Lord with Ganga water. After this, apply sandalwood to Shaligram ji and tilak to Tulsi Mata with roli. Keep in mind, rice is not offered to Shaligram ji, hence use sesame seeds in his worship.
Bhog and Aarti: Offer flowers, sweets, sugarcane, water chestnuts, radish and Panchamrit in the puja. Then light incense and lamps and chant mantras.
Marriage Rituals: Just like a real marriage, seven rounds of Tulsi Mata and Lord Shaligram are made. During this, Lord Shaligram is rotated around the pot. After the completion of the marriage, perform Aarti and distribute Prasad among all the devotees.
