Singapore: An Indian nurse working at Raffles Hospital in Singapore has been sentenced by the court in a sexual harassment case. This person named Elippe Shiva Nagu has been held guilty. Apart from two years and two months in jail, he was also sentenced to two lashes with the cane. This punishment was given because he had confessed to sexual harassment.
The case is that the nurse sexually assaulted a man who had come to meet his grandfather admitted in the hospital on the pretext of disinfecting. The incident occurred at the hospital on North Bridge Road on June 18 at 7.30 pm. When the victim went to the toilet after meeting his grandfather, the accused nurse also followed him. Then, in the name of disinfection, he applied soap on the victim’s hands and sexually assaulted her.
After receiving a complaint about this incident, the police registered a case on June 21. The nurse was arrested two days later. When the allegations came to light, he was suspended from the hospital. The court has not revealed any information like the name or age of the victim.
