Rumours of a possible reconciliation between Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president C Joseph Vijay and his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam have gained momentum on social media, even as their divorce case continues before the courts.
Several social media posts and online reports have claimed that efforts by family members may have encouraged the couple to resolve their differences. Some reports have further suggested that Sangeetha has returned to Chennai and that the two have been spending time together. However, neither Vijay nor Sangeetha has issued any statement confirming the claims.
The speculation comes at a time when the couple’s divorce proceedings remain active. The Chengalpattu Family Court recently adjourned the matter to August 7 after neither Vijay nor Sangeetha appeared before the court during the latest hearing.

Who is Sangeetha Sornalingam?
Sangeetha Sornalingam comes from a Sri Lankan Tamil family based in London and is the daughter of businessman Sornalingam. According to reports, she first became a fan of Vijay after watching his 1996 film Poove Unakkaga. Their friendship later developed into a relationship, eventually leading to marriage in 1999.
The couple have largely kept their personal lives away from public scrutiny. They are parents to two children – son Jason Sanjay and daughter Divya Saasha. Jason Sanjay is preparing for his directorial debut in Tamil cinema, while Divya has largely stayed away from the entertainment industry.
Reports have also suggested that Sangeetha manages family business interests in the United Kingdom and maintains close ties with several personalities in the Tamil film industry.
