Rajasthan government has suspended RAS officer Chhotu Lal Sharma, who assaulted petrol pump employees in Bhilwara. After the video went viral, the allegations of the woman and the employees created a new controversy.
Bhilwara. Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer Chhotu Lal Sharma is once again embroiled in controversy. After the video of him assaulting the staff at a petrol pump in Bhilwara went viral, the state government has suspended him with immediate effect. In this video which is fast going viral on social media, Sharma can be seen slapping an employee.
What happened at the petrol pump of Bhilwara?
The incident took place at a petrol pump in Bhilwara district. According to the information, Chhotu Lal Sharma had come to fill petrol with his companion Deepika Vyas. During this time, the petrol pump employee allegedly started filling petrol in another customer’s car instead of his vehicle, due to which Sharma got angry and slapped the employee. Woman Deepika Vyas lodged a complaint with the police that petrol pump employees behaved rudely with her and winked at her, after which Sharma took this step in anger. At the same time, petrol pump employees allege that the officer attacked them without any mistake.

Three employees arrested, officer suspended
Three employees — Deepak Mali, Prabhulal Kumawat and Raja Sharma — have been arrested by the police after the incident. Taking cognizance of the viral video, the state government took action and immediately suspended Chhotu Lal Sharma.
In the order issued by the Rajasthan government it was said –
“In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 13 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules 1958, Shri Chhotu Lal Sharma, RAS, Assistant Director, Public Services, Administrative Reforms and Coordination Department, Pratapgarh is suspended with immediate effect for administrative reasons.”
During the suspension period, Sharma has been posted in the Personnel Department, Secretariat, Jaipur. Let us tell you, Chhotu Lal Sharma’s career has been full of controversies. He has already been accused of indiscipline and domestic violence. This is not the first time he has been suspended.
Now a new twist has emerged in this matter. Police investigation revealed that the woman Deepika Vyas, who claimed to be Sharma’s wife, is not his legal wife. Sharma’s legal wife Poonam Sharma currently lives separately with her children. It is being told that the officer had thrown the family out of the house, after which Poonam had filed a case of domestic violence against him. She is currently living in financial crisis.
Controversy increased on social media
After the video went viral, people on social media have demanded Sharma’s arrest and dismissal. Many users questioned the government as to why such officers are given chances again and again.
