In the last election, JDU (U) candidate Panna Lal Singh Patel defeated Congress’s Chandan Kumar alias Dr. Chandan Yadav by a margin of 5,108 votes. JDU got 56,541 votes while the Congress candidate got 51,433 votes. Mithilesh Kumar Nishad of LJP stood third, getting 31,229 votes. Whereas Sushant Yadav of BSP got 3,547 votes.
