Piyush Pandey passes away: The advertising legend who created Cadbury, fevicol ads

New Delhi: Advertising legend Piyush Pandey passed away on October 24, 2025 (Friday). Pandey was person behind the iconic advertisements of Cadbury, Fevicol, Asian Paints, and many other popular brands.

Pandey, who passed away at 70, was suffering from infection. He was associated in the advertising field for nearly four decades. He was the Chief Creative Officer Worldwide and Executive Chairman India of Ogilvy.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman expressed her condolences on passing away of Piyush Pandey. She described him as a ‘titan’ and ‘legend’ of Indian advertising. She credited Pandey of transforming communication by bringing everyday idioms, earthy humor, and genuine warmth into it.

“Saddened to hear of the passing of Shri Piyush Pandey. A titan and legend of Indian advertising, he transformed communication by bringing everyday idioms, earthy humor, and genuine warmth into it. Have had opportunities to interact with him on various occasions. Heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire creative fraternity. His legacy will continue to inspire generations,” Sitharamn posted on X
