Dhami reviews preparations for international kayaking and canoeing competition in Gadarpur

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Gadarpur in Udham Singh Nagar district to review preparations for an upcoming international kayaking and canoeing competition.
During the inspection, he assessed arrangements related to athlete facilities, security measures, technical infrastructure, transportation, accommodation, and other logistical requirements at the venue.

According to an official statement, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all preparations for the international-level event are completed on time and in accordance with prescribed standards. He also instructed departments to work in coordination to facilitate the participation of athletes, coaches, judges, and other visitors expected from India and abroad.

During the visit, Dhami also took part in water sports activities and said Uttarakhand has significant potential for adventure sports. He stated that the state government’s efforts are focused on expanding sports facilities and developing modern sports infrastructure to support activities such as water sports and mountain-based events.

The Chief Minister said that hosting large-scale sporting events can provide opportunities for young athletes and contribute to tourism and local economic activity. He also directed officials to ensure adequate arrangements related to cleanliness, drinking water, medical services, security, and traffic management for the competition. MLA Arvind Pandey and officials from various departments were also present during the inspection.
