Babubarhi Assembly Election 2025: Babubarhi Vidhan Sabha Seat of Bihar is located in Madhubani district and is part of Jhanjharpur Lok Sabha constituency. This is a general category seat and the Scheduled Caste voters here are 44,789 (14.25%). Also, Muslim voters are around 35,517 (11.3%) and the total voter count is around 3,14,309. This seat has always been dominated by rural voters.

In the 2020 assembly elections, JDU’s Meena Kamat won and defeated RJD’s Umakant Yadav. The question is, will JDU be able to maintain its strong hold in the 2025 Babubarhi elections or will RJD make a comeback?

Important thing: Meena Kamat retained the seat for JDU by maintaining its lead in total voting at 61.01%.

2015: JDU’s victory and vote difference

In 2015 also, JDU’s Kapildev Kamat won.

  • Kapildev Kamat (JD(U)) -61,486 votes
  • Binod Kumar Singh (LJP) – 41,219 votes
  • Margin of victory-20,267 votes.

Note: JDU won this election with a clear majority and left RJD/LJP behind.

2010: RJD returns

In 2010, Uma Kant Yadav (RJD) won from Babubarhi seat.

  • Uma Kant Yadav (RJD)-51,772 votes
  • Kapildev Kamat (JD(U))-46,859 votes
  • Margin of victory – 4,913 votes.

Note: RJD had given a tough fight to JDU in this election, but the difference was not much.
