Mirzapur: A strange case has come to light from Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh, where a Hindu family, considering their daughter-in-law’s illness to be the effect of ghosts, built a ‘mazar’ inside the house. When the villagers came to know about this, there was a stir in the village. People protested against the construction of a shrine inside a Hindu house and immediately informed the police. Later the police reached the spot and demolished the tomb with the help of the villagers.

What is the whole matter?

This case pertains to Kushahan village of Jigna police station area of ​​Mirzapur. The daughter-in-law of resident Niwas Singh was ill for a long time. Someone advised the family that the daughter-in-law was possessed by a demon, and to get rid of her, they should build a shrine in the house. Niwas Singh accepted this advice without thinking and got a mausoleum like structure built inside his house.

The fragrance of perfume spread in the village revealed

No one had any idea about it in the initial days. But after some time the people nearby felt the smell of perfume, which is usually found around the tombs. Gradually the word spread and the villagers objected to the construction of the tomb. Within no time the atmosphere became tense. Police were called to handle the situation.

Opposition to Hindu Kshatriya Vahini organization

Regarding this incident, District President of Hindu Kshatriya Vahini Organization, Munna Singh Gaharwar said,

“Village resident Niwas Singh had built a shrine in his house, even though no Muslim family lives in the village. This is not faith, but superstition and is being used as a means of earning. We strongly opposed it.”

What did the police say?

Mirzapur Senior Superintendent of Police Somen Burma said,

“On the night of October 22, at around 8 pm, the police received information that in village Tiwaripur Kushaha, a person had built a tomb-like structure in his house due to the belief that his daughter-in-law was haunted by a ghost. The villagers opposed it. The police reached the spot and investigated and the concerned person himself removed the structure with the help of the villagers.”

Peace and order normal in the village

SSP said that at present the peace and order of the village is completely normal. There is no law and order problem and the matter has been calmed down by convincing the villagers.
