The date of closure of Char Dham Yatra has arrived.
The Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand has reached its end. Today i.e. on Wednesday the doors of Gangotri Dham will be closed for winter. On Thursday, the doors of Yamunotri and Kedarnath Dham will be closed for winter. After this, the doors of Baba Badrinath, popularly known as Vaikunth Dham, will be closed on 25th November.
This year 50 lakh devotees have visited these four Dhams of Uttarakhand. Most of the devotees have reached Kedarnath Dham. The number of devotees reaching Badrinath Dham is also not less. The number of devotees visiting Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham has also crossed 6 lakhs. The doors of Hemkund Sahib have been closed and this time around 3 lakh devotees came to have darshan there. But from today the darshan of all four Dhams will be closed for winter.
- The doors of Gangotri Dham will be closed on 22nd October at 11:36 am.
- The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be closed on 23rd October at 8:30 am.
- The doors of Yamunotri Dham will be closed on 23rd October at 12:30 pm.
- The doors of Badrinath Dham will close on 25th November at 2:56 pm.
Gangotri Dham remained closed for a long time
The journey to Char Dham starts from Yamunotri and Gangotri Dhams located in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This time the natural disaster also hit Uttarkashi the most. Due to the terrible disaster in Dharali, the pilgrimage to Gangotri Dham remained closed for a long time. Meanwhile, on the National Highway going to Yamunotri Dham, the lake built on the Yamuna River at Shyanachatti submerged the road. Due to this, the Yamunotri Dham Yatra also remained closed for a long time.
How many devotees visited where?
Despite all these obstacles, by October 21, 2025, the number of devotees visiting Yamunotri Dham reached 6,44,366. In 21 days of October alone, 40,227 devotees reached Yamunotri Dham. The number of pilgrims reaching Gangotri Dham also increased to 7,57,762. 53,949 devotees have reached Gangotri Dham in 21 days of October.
