Kandivli police crack halogen lamp theft cases, arrest four accused

The  have solved two cases of theft of halogen lights and arrested four people. The thefts took place nearly two months ago at the Poisar Gymkhana turf and a temporary pandal erected outside Kala Hanuman Mandir in Kandivli West during Hanuman Jayanti celebrations.

Among those arrested is an event organiser, Akshay Nadgaonkar, who runs a decoration business and provides lights, mandaps, and event setups. His co-accused are Vaibhav Malekar, Prashant Iyer, and Rahul Pate.

The accused allegedly stole a total of 40 halogen lights — 22 from Poisar Gymkhana turf and another 18 from the pandal set up outside a temple. The value of the  is estimated at around Rs 1.5 lakh. All lamps were recovered.

The accused were produced before the Borivali Metropolitan Magistrate Court and were remanded in judicial custody. Police are also investigating whether the accused were involved in similar theft cases and are examining possible links to other offences.
