Anupama’s cast got angry on Smriti Irani’s talkativeness, said this for Rupali Ganguly

The cast of the show expressed displeasure over Smriti Irani’s statement on ‘Anupama’. On rejecting the comparison with Rupali Ganguly, Alpana Buch, Zalak Desai and others said – “This was not expected”, controversy increased over the word ‘competition’.

The cast of Rupali Ganguly’s show ‘Anupama’ has expressed regret over Smriti Irani’s comments. After ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Bahu Thi’ went on air, this serial is continuously being compared with Anupama. Lead actress Smriti Irani had made a comment regarding this, which the actors of this show did not like at all.

Ekta Kapoor’s family drama ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ has returned to television after 17 years. The show competes with Rupali Ganguly’s superhit daily soap ‘Anupamaa’, which continues to top the TRP charts. However, in a recent interview, Smriti Irani rejected the talk of ‘Anupama’ being a competitor of ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, during which Anupama’s cast members have expressed disappointment over her loudness.

Many cast members of Anupama have expressed their disagreement against the former central minister while reacting to Smriti’s interview clip. Actress Alpana Buch, who plays Baa in the show, said, “Smriti ji, this was not expected from you.” Actress Miloni Kapadia, who plays Kinjal, wrote, “It breaks my heart to see our love not being reciprocated.”

Actor Jasvir Kaur, who plays Rupali Ganguly’s friend in Anupamaa, said, “Was it a conversation, or did I mishear the question? Why are you comparing two different shows from different eras on the same channel? One was the most popular show 25 years ago with a few more shows, and one is a current hit show which has been running for the last five years. Yes, there is no comparison, yet they are being compared… Hmm.”

Zalak Desai, who played Khyati Patel Kothari in the series, also responded to Smriti’s comparison of her with Rupali, saying, “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was a great show that made a comeback and is still remembered today. No one here is just starting out! Seriously, there is no comparison at all! The numbers speak for themselves.”
