Who was Neem Karauli Baba?
Neem Karauli Baba, known as Maharaj Ji by his devotees, was a great devotee of Hanuman Ji and a famous saint. He was born as Laxman Narayan Sharma in a Brahmin family. He got married at the age of 11, but left home and became a monk.

In 1942, Maharaj Ji and Shri Purnanand Ji together planned to build an Ashram at this place. Earlier, Sobri Maharaj and Sadhu Premi Baba used to perform Yagya at this place. Later Maharaj ji built a Hanuman temple here and built an ashram for the devotees. Gradually, bhandaras, kirtans and bhajans started taking place here and the number of devotees increased.

How to reach Kainchi Dham? By road: It can be easily reached by taxi or bus from Bhawali, about 18 kilometers from Nainital.
By Rail: Kathgodam Railway Station is the nearest station from where buses and taxis are available.
By Air: Pantnagar Airport (about 76 km away) is the nearest airport from where one can reach Kainchi Dham by taxi.
