Deepotsav 2025: Ayodhya administration deployed 8 teams to ensure the safety and food security of the devotees during Deepotsav 2025. So far, 54 inspections, 34 raids and 167 kg of adulterated food have been destroyed.

Ayodhya. Ayodhya administration has paid special attention to food security regarding Deepotsav 2025. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the District Magistrate has formed 8 special teams. Their main objective is to provide safe and pure food items to the lakhs of devotees coming to the festival of lights.

In the five tehsils, different teams under the leadership of 5 SDMs are monitoring, while in the city area, teams of 2 City Magistrates are keeping a constant vigil. Apart from this, the team of Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Manik Chandra Singh is active across the district at the headquarters level.

54 inspections and 34 raids, were adulterated foods found?

Before Deepotsav, the Food Department conducted a large-scale inspection campaign. So far, 54 inspections, 34 raids and 76 samples have been taken. Its objective is to ensure that no spoiled or adulterated food items reach the devotees.

Assistant Commissioner Manik Chandra Singh said that during the inspection, 19,657 kg of food items were recovered, the value of which is said to be more than Rs 33 lakh. Out of these, 167 kg of spoiled and adulterated material was destroyed, the value of which is approximately Rs 35 thousand.

Have officers come from other districts also?

A large number of devotees are going to come to Ayodhya during the festival of lights. Therefore, food safety officers from other districts have also been deployed. On October 19 and 20, these officers will conduct intensive checks and ensure that there is no food irregularity.
