A 7th semester student of BMS Engineering College, Bengaluru has accused her junior of rape. The incident took place in the college washroom on October 10. Police have arrested Jeevan Gowda, a 5th semester student.

Bengaluru: A student of a renowned engineering college in Bengaluru has accused her junior student of raping her in the washroom. In this case, the police have arrested Jeevan Gowda (21), a fifth semester student of BMS College of Engineering, Basavanagudi. The victim is a student of seventh semester. According to the report, this incident took place on October 10. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered on October 15 under section 64 (punishment for rape) of the BNS. Police said that due to mental stress and fear the student delayed filing the complaint. His parents contacted the police.

The student reached college at 8:55 in the morning. He had asked to meet Jeevan in the afternoon to buy some items. During lunch break, when Jeevan called her several times, she went to meet him. The boy asked him to come to the seventh floor of the architecture block. It is being told that after reaching the seventh floor, Jeevan first tried to kiss her. Then they took the elevator down to the sixth floor. Upon reaching the men’s washroom on the sixth floor, Jeevan pulled the student inside and raped her.

During the attack, he locked the room, snatched her phone and kept it in his pocket and disconnected the call when the girl’s friend called. The incident is believed to have occurred between 1:30 pm and 1:50 pm. Later, the girl came out and told her two friends about it. Jeevan later called and asked if she wanted contraceptive pills.
