A case of religious conversion has come to light from Alwar, Rajasthan. Hindu girls have complained about pressurizing two Muslim girls living in a rented house to change their religion. He is accused of forcibly befriending a Muslim youth by converting him to religion. The police have detained a young man along with both the accused girls. Police is interrogating all three.
The victim and the accused girls lived together in a rented house in a locality of Alwar. After the incident, the victim girls vacated the house and took it on rent at another place. He has also accused the accused boy of molestation. There has been a stir in the police department after the case of religious conversion came to light in Alwar.
Allegation of converting religion and befriending Wasim
Alwar Superintendent of Police Anand Sharma said that on February 27, two girls gave a complaint at the city police station. His allegation was that his two roommates Kajal alias Babita and Sakina Meo asked him to convert to religion. It is alleged that she forcibly asked him to be friends with a boy named Wasim. In the complaint, the victim girls said that the accused youth followed them till the college. Even on their return he chases them and harasses them.
Police had banned under section 151
It is alleged that Wasim puts pressure on her to marry her and harasses her by calling repeatedly. On the complaint of the victim girls, the police had booked the accused under section 151. When the police investigated the matter seriously, it was found to be related to religious conversion. On the complaint of the victim girls, the police arrested all three accused. The investigation of this matter has been handed over to CO City.
CO City is investigating
Deputy Superintendent of Police, City Narayan Singh, who is investigating the case, said that the girls who have lodged the report. He says that both his roommate girls used to harass him. She used to talk about her friendship with Wasim by talking about religious conversion. He told that the accused also used to give inducements for religious conversion. The girl’s statement has been taken and she is being counselled.
