Neetu Chandra Searches for Her ‘William Thacker’ Outside ‘Notting Hill’ Film’s Famous Blue Door in London

Actress Neetu Chandra, recently seen in ‘Aakhri Sawal’, took a nostalgic trip to the world of the popular romantic comedy ‘Notting Hill’ during her visit to London, posing outside the film’s iconic blue door in search of her own William Thacker.

On Saturday, the actress shared a series of pictures on Instagram in which she can be seen posing outside the famous blue door at 280 Westbourne Park Road in London’s Notting Hill neighbourhood.

Expressing her fondness for the film, Neetu wrote in her caption, “Knock knock, who is there ? William Thacker. Waiting for My William Thacker from the film, ‘Notting Hills’, outside his famous blue door, where are you my my Hugh Grant ?? Went to look for you, even at your book store (sic)”

Directed by Roger Michell and written by Richard Curtis, ‘Notting Hill’ follows William Thacker, played by Hugh Grant, a London bookseller whose life changes after he meets Anna Scott, a famous American film star portrayed by Julia Roberts. The story explores their romance amid the challenges of celebrity life and their contrasting worlds.

The film also featured Rhys Ifans, Hugh Bonneville, Emma Chambers, Gina McKee, Tim McInnerny and Alec Baldwin. It became a global box-office success, earning approximately $364 million worldwide against a reported budget of $42 million.

Its famous dialogue, “I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her”, remains one of the most recognisable romantic lines in cinema. The film’s portrayal of Notting Hill also helped make the London neighbourhood a popular destination for fans.
