Congress can contest elections on 60 seats

Meanwhile, according to information received from sources, talks have taken place between RJD and Congress on seat sharing on almost all the seats. Both parties have claimed some seats. There are still discussions on them. According to media reports, Congress can contest elections on 60 seats. Talks on seat sharing with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) are almost complete. Talks are going on on two-three seats. The official announcement is likely to be made on Tuesday.

Tejashwi Yadav will contest elections from Raghopur

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is going to contest elections from Raghopur assembly seat of Vaishali district. He will file nomination from here on October 15. His supporters have shared posters urging people to attend the nomination ceremony.

Raghopur seat is one of the hottest seats in Bihar. The seat holds deep symbolic and political significance for the Yadav family. It is considered the stronghold of Lalu family. RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife, former chief minister Rabri Devi, have represented Raghopur several times. His son Tejashwi Yadav is currently the MLA from this seat. Tejashwi had won here in the 2015 and 2020 assembly elections.

Prashant Kishore can contest elections from Raghopur

The possibility of Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishor contesting elections from Raghopur is also discussed. It is being said that Prashant can challenge Tejashwi in his home constituency. In Raghopur on Saturday, Kishor said he would “meet people and seek their views” before finalizing the list by his party’s central committee. He also claimed that if Tejashwi contests the elections, he may be forced to contest from two seats. Compared this situation to Rahul Gandhi’s defeat in Amethi in 2019.
