In the early 2000s, a new face made a promising entry in Bollywood, Tusshar Kapoor. The son of veteran actor Jeetendra, his launch was received well by the audience. He made his acting debut with Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai and his co-star was the vivacious Kareena Kapoor. In 2026, Tusshar completes 25 years in the film industry. Having worked with some of the biggest heroines of the 2000s, Kapoor feels his chemistry with ‘Bebo’ has been the best. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, he also added that the first co-star always remains special.
Tusshar Kapoor calls Kareena Kapoor his special professional friend
Talking to Zoom exclusively on completing 25 years, Tusshar said, “I’ve worked the most with Kareena. I have done two Golmaal films, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai and Jeena Sirf Merre Liye. We got along really well, especially in the second film. Your first heroine is always going to have an edge because I faced the camera with her for the first time. I regard Bebo as a very special professional friend of mine.”

The actor added, “She was very supportive and she had already done a movie; quite acclimatised to the studio atmosphere. I remember my first scene and she told me, ‘You can take as many shots, do 50 takes, but be comfortable and satisfied with your shot’. She tried to make me feel a little easier. It was only a few days later that I started warming up. We didn’t speak much during my first film. I was just with my director, working to nail the character. She was the fun aspect. New Zealand mein thoda baatein karte the, gossip karte the. Bebo was fun that way, but I was very much into my job and wanted to get my role right and my director to be happy with my work.”
