Ahead of that, Zoom did an exclusive interview with , who has made her Telugu debut with this project. In conversation with us, the actress got candid about working on Sing Geetham. Ahilya on working on Telugu film Sing Geetham
About working on , Ahilya told us, “It has been an experience where I have learned a tremendous amount of not just acting and filmmaking, but also about stories and people. I think immersing yourself in a new culture always gives you perspective. So that’s been huge, because I don’t speak Telugu. I had to learn from scratch. And I have dubbed myself for this film. I tried to immerse myself in the language.”

The actress further revealed that shooting for months surrounded by people only speaking in Telugu taught her a lot about communication and patience with herself. There were a lot of things she didn’t understand; however, the rewarding experience was becoming family with people she worked with and knowing that they created something different.
When Ahilya was asked about challenging aspects of doing this musical fantasy, she added, “One is to do the genre we’re doing: a musical. And it’s a musical in a sense that has not been done too much in India before. This is one of the few times it’s been attempted. It is truly a movie where everybody is singing. There are no real dialogues. In the beginning of the film, yes (there are dialogues).”
The actress shared that after the introduction of a character, one is set into a new type of genre. She recalled there was no reference to film for a project in away that no one has really done before.

“We’re literally always figuring it out as we go along. It is a challenging but fun part. I’m glad that those two things came together. And then of course, the language. To do an entire movie in a language you’ve never spoken before is quite daunting, especially when you’re speaking in front of native Telugu actors who are also veterans in acting, especially some of the senior actors on the set. You just feel a little embarrassed all the time (laughs),” she mentioned.
