Following his achievements in international and domestic cricket, Sooryavanshi was appointed as vice-captain of the East Zone in the Duleep Trophy.
In a Reddit Q and A session on Tuesday, legendary Team India’s cricketer was asked about his views on handing the leadership role to Sooryavanshi at just 15 years of age.
Expressing his on the social media platform, the former cricketer stated that it is too early for the youngster to become the vice-captain in a domestic tournament. He also wants to see Sooryavanshi play more matches in red-ball cricket.
“I feel it’s too early for him to become a vice-captain in the Duleep trophy. We have to let him play more matches with the red ball and take one step at a time!,” wrote Tendulkar.
Recently, Sooryavanshi featured in the five-match T20I series against .The “Men in Blue” managed to win the series by 3-2.
After concluding the T20I series, both teams will face each other in the five-match ODI series. The first match is scheduled to be played on November 4 at the Eden Park in Auckland.
