Ranbir Kapoor essays the role of Lord Ram in the film, and his look has already generated considerable buzz among audiences. Filmmaker Karan Johar has also expressed his excitement about the film. He did not offer a detailed review or reveal anything about the story.

“Mind is blown! Won’t say anymore! All I will say is that it’s going to be a very, very exceptionally HAPPY DIWALI,” he wrote.

Dharma Productions is handling the theatrical distribution of Ramayana in the Hindi-speaking market. It reportedly secured the deal for Rs 250 crore after negotiations with co-producers Namit Malhotra’s DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Sony Pictures is managing distribution outside India.

Given this commercial association, Karan’s reaction is both a filmmaker’s praise and a distributor’s show of confidence. Audiences will have to form their own opinions once the film reaches cinemas.
