Road widening will provide relief in traffic
The provincial works wing of the Public Works Department (PWD) had already completed the road widening work in Arjunganj area. Due to the widening of the roads connecting to the new flyover, the jam-like situation will now end to a great extent. Earlier, during religious events, traffic used to crawl on Mari Mata Mandir Pulia. At the same time, vehicles had to be stopped many times during VIP movement. The bridge corporation had increased the pace of construction work after a minor accident involving a VIP convoy a few months ago.
Asphalt work completed, formal inauguration soon
According to Setu Nigam officials, asphalting work has been completed on one lane of the flyover, while work on the other lane will start soon. Vehicular movement has been started on the flyover without formal inauguration, so that the general public can get convenience. The old road leading to the temple will remain open for two-wheelers. The corporation also informed that soon the formal inauguration of the flyover will be done in the presence of senior officials.
Local residents said that this flyover will not only speed up VIP movement but will also significantly reduce the traffic load on Sultanpur road. Devotees going towards Mari Mata temple will also now get freedom from traffic jams.
