Nearly 30 straight Telugu and dubbed films hit theatres in October 2026. Here is the monthly box office report, featuring the hits, average performers and flops.
Blockbuster: Jailer 2
Released amid massive expectations, Superstar Rajinikanth’s “Jailer 2” lived up to the hype and entertained audiences with its commercial elements. The film grossed nearly 95 crore so far, and will touch Rs 100 crore gross mark by the end of its run. The film was directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
Above Average: Ranabaali
Despite facing stiff competition from “Jailer 2”, Vijay Deverakonda’s “Ranabaali” managed to attract audiences to theatres.
The film received mixed reviews but collected around Rs 68 crore gross in the Telugu states and Rs 79 crore worldwide. It performed exceptionally well in Rayalaseema, helping it achieve break-even in the Telugu states. However, the film turned out to be a disaster in the overseas market.
Average: Comrade Kalyan
Sree Vishnu’s comedy entertainer “Comrade Kalyan” entered theatres with a break-even target of Rs 16 crore. Despite the comedy losing steam in the second half, the film grossed this much amount due to its comedy portions. It eventually recovered its investment and achieved break-even, ending its theatrical run on an average note.
Flops
“Don’t Trouble the Trouble”, which marked S. S. Karthikeya’s debut as a producer, featured Fahadh Faasil in the lead role. However, the star-studded promotions failed to translate into audience turnout, and the film ended up as a flop.
Sundeep Kishan’s “Sigma”, which marked the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, also turned out to be a major flop. The film received negative reviews and struggled at the box office, once again raising questions about Sundeep Kishan’s opening strength.
Vishwak Sen’s “Cult”, which arrived in theatres last weekend, has also emerged as a flop. The film registered poor openings, and collections have remained sluggish. At this rate, even recovering the publicity expenditure appears difficult.
Other flops of the month include “Anakapalli”, “Thella Kagitham” and “Crazy Kalyanam”.
“Garividi Lakshmi” also failed at the box office across most territories, though it performed relatively well in North Andhra.
Result awaited: Aadarsha Kutumbam
Venkatesh’s “Aadarsha Kutumbam”, directed by Trivikram, was released last weekend and has been holding reasonably well at the box office.
However, despite showing some stability after its opening, the film’s final box office outcome remains to be seen. Its theatrical run over the coming days will determine whether it can emerge as a success.
