Khairatabad Bypoll: Danam Gets Revanth’s Backing

The Congress seems to have made up its mind about the Khairatabad by-election. Chief Minister  has reportedly told party leaders that Danam Nagender will be the party’s candidate if the bypoll takes place.

There was quite a bit of speculation over ‘s political future after his disqualification as an MLA was upheld by the Supreme Court. Several names were doing the rounds within the Congress, including leaders considered close to Revanth Reddy. There was also talk about Danam holding discussions with the party’s central leadership to secure another opportunity.

Revanth has now reportedly put those speculations to rest by backing Danam. The Chief Minister has also made it clear that the Congress takes every election seriously, irrespective of its size.

However, the by-election is not officially confirmed yet. Vijayareddy’s petition and other pending legal proceedings before the High Court need to be resolved before the Election Commission can move ahead with the schedule.

For Danam, Revanth’s backing is a significant political advantage. It gives him time to work in the constituency and prepare for another electoral battle.

The announcement also puts the BRS and BJP under pressure to finalise their candidates. With Congress appearing to have settled its choice, the focus now shifts to how the opposition parties plan to take on Danam in Khairatabad.
