Kagiso Rabada Makes History as Fastest Bowler to 350 Test Wickets

Kagiso Rabada has etched his name in cricket history by becoming the fastest bowler to take 350 wickets in Test cricket.

This remarkable feat occurred during the third Test match against Australia at Newlands in Cape Town on October 31, 2026.

Rabada achieved this milestone after bowling 13,808 deliveries, surpassing the previous record held by Dale Steyn, who reached 350 wickets after 14,719 balls. With this achievement, Rabada becomes the fourth South African bowler to claim 350 Test wickets, joining the ranks of Steyn, Shaun Pollock, and Makhaya Ntini.

In his 75th Test match, Rabada matched the record of former  bowler Malcolm Marshall, who also reached 350 wickets in his 75th game. This places Rabada as the joint third-fastest bowler to reach this milestone in terms of matches played.

Additionally, Rabada has crossed the 600-wicket mark in international cricket, becoming the fifth South African bowler to do so. He reached this significant milestone in his 260th match.

The record for the most Test wickets for South Africa remains with Shaun Pollock, who took a total of 823 wickets in international cricket. Rabada completed his 350th Test wicket by dismissing Travis Head. At lunch during the third Test, Australia found themselves struggling at 60 runs, having lost seven wickets while chasing a target of 288 runs.
