To facilitate the influx of concert-goers for Diljit Dosanjh’s “Aura India Tour 2026” at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced an extension of its services until midnight on October 30. This adjustment is aimed at easing transportation for the expected crowd of over 70,000 attendees.
Anuj Dayal, the Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications at DMRC, confirmed the extended operational hours. All metro lines, except the Airport Express Line and Gurugram’s Rapid Metro, will run later than usual. On the concert day, services will continue until 12 AM.
To manage the anticipated crowd, DMRC will deploy additional trains across the network. In case of a sudden surge in passenger numbers, extra trains will be kept on standby. Furthermore, the time for purchasing QR tickets via the DMRC mobile app, Delhi Metro Sarthi, will also be extended by an hour.
Special arrangements have been made at the JL Nehru Stadium Metro Station and other key interchange stations to ensure smooth entry and exit for attendees. Additional DMRC staff, customer service personnel, and Customer Facilitation Agents (CFAs) will be stationed to guide passengers and manage traffic flow.
For enhanced security, more personnel will be deployed at the JL Nehru Stadium Metro Station. Measures include the installation of Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) and strengthened security checks to maintain passenger safety and compliance with protocols.
The JL Nehru Stadium Metro Station, located on the Violet Line (Kashmere Gate – Raja Nahar Singh Corridor), is the closest metro station to the concert venue. DMRC encourages attendees to utilize metro services for a convenient, safe, and environmentally friendly travel option, reducing reliance on personal vehicles.
Earlier, the Delhi Traffic Police provided detailed information on route diversions and available paths for vehicles. They also advised the public to prefer public transport, particularly the metro, to avoid traffic congestion.
On platform X, the Delhi Traffic Police announced that traffic restrictions and route diversions may be in effect from 1 PM to midnight on October 30 due to the concert. They urged attendees to plan their journeys in advance and avoid affected routes near the stadium.
