Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress Navika Kotia announced her engagement to Pune-based businessman Mazen Mody in January. However, the duo recently called off their engagement. They were reportedly planning to get married later this year. Navika is said to have removed her pictures with Mazen from the ceremony on social media. According to a media report, the actress parted ways with the businessman in July 2026. It apparently happened due to compatibility issues. In an official statement, Mazen confirmed the development about parting ways with Navika.

A source close to the development told Bombay Times that and Mazen were an arranged match. After their gol dhala ceremony was apparently performed in January, they were planning to tie the knot next year.

The duo reportedly started facing issues and realised they were different from each other. Hence, the actress and Mazen allegedly decide to go separate ways. That said, there was apparently no negativity around their breakup as they both moved on. In an official statement, Mazen confirmed his split from Navika. the Pune-based businessman said two people can be good individuals and still not be the right fit for each other.
“We realised that we had different priorities and that our compatibility wasn’t where it needed to be for a marriage. Calling off the engagement was a mutual decision, and I believe it was the right decision for both of us,” he said.
When Navika spoke about how she met Mazen
Earlier, in an interveiw with Hindustan Times, Navika had revealed she and Mazen met through a mutual friend and knew each other for a year before their families discussed marriage. The actress happened to meet the businessman’s mother twice. This led to his parents calling Navika’s mother and father to talk about the duo’s marriage.
“But as I have always wanted my parents to take the call for my marriage, this was the perfect fit. It took some time, but as I have known him, I had to say yes. And we had a small roka in November,” he added. After their engagement was called off, Mazen is now said to be dating Ritika Badiani. Born in Porbandar, Gujarat, the actress has been a part of films like Airlift, 10 Kalpanakal and Chaman Bahaar.
As for Navika, the actress worked as a child actor in television shows like Baa Bahoo Aur Baby and Balika Vadhu. She even acted in late Sridevi’s movie, English Vinglish.
