Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh is all set to kickstart his Aura India Tour on October 30, 2026 with a grand concert at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Nearly 55,000 attendees are expected to attend the show on Friday. Hence, Delhi Police and the event organisers are having high-level discussions to deploy more security for the high-profile show amid security concerns. As per reports, nearly 2,000 private security personnel are set to be deployed to manage the massive surge at the venue. Delhi traffic police will also implement strict rules to avoid any mishap at and around the Diljit Dosanjh concert venue in the city.
Diljit Dosanjh Delhi concert arrangement details
According to an Indian Express report, the event organisers have enhanced the security by deploying up to 2000 private guards for the arrangements after the initially withheld permission for the concert, citing security concerns and law and order commitments during the ongoing festive season. Eventually, the cops granted the clearance after the discussions with the organisers and submission of a revised security plan.
The report states that Delhi Police recommended the deployment of 1,500 to 2,000 private security personnel, which are significantly higher than 400 initially proposed by the organisers. The deployed guards will manage queues, direct concertgoers towards designated entry gates, assist fans at help desks and regulate pedestrian movement around the stadium, which has a capacity of around 55 thousand people.
The Delhi Traffic Police has also asked the organisers to arrange additional parking facilities in the vicinity and coordinate with cab aggregators and navigation platforms to manage pick-ups and drop-offs to prevent traffic congestion. The traffic police are considering restricting vehicle movement within a 500 to 700 metre radius of the venue to keep the surrounding area clear. The zone would be accessible only to vehicles carrying artiste and those with specific event authorisation.
The Delhi Police had earlier told ANI that the reason behind keeping the concert on hold was due to ‘specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law and order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season.’
Later, Police held a meeting with the organisers, after which the BookMyShow described as a ‘cordial and constructive meeting’. They submitted a revised security plan addressing concerns raised by the authorities. After the discussion, the cops issued permission to the organisers for Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Delhi.
