Is Alia Bhatt’s Alpha teaser copied from a Hollywood film?
Many netizens believed the film appeared to be influenced by iconic Hollywood productions. Its opening sequence, in particular, was compared to a scene from the 1990 French thriller La Femme Nikita, filmed at Le Train Bleu.
The teaser opens with young Alia having a gala time with her father, Bobby Deol, on her 18th birthday. While Bobby wishes Alia a happy birthday, he hands her a card that has a room number on it. Later, he tells her to put all the training into use by going on her first mission and making her first kill.
The opening sequence, in particular, has sparked comparisons with La Femme Nikita. Helmed by Luc Besson, the French cult classic tells the story of Nikita, a troubled woman who is covertly enlisted by a government agency following her arrest for murder.
Minutes after the teaser was released, a social media user took to the Reddit and shared the reference from the French film.
