Land Rover Discovery 110 Prices Reduced by Up to Rs 34 Lakh as JLR Starts Local Assembly

JLR India has announced revised prices for its Defender 110, with price reductions of up to Rs 34 lakh as the carmaker begins local assembly of the SUV. The updated range now begins at Rs 99 lakh.

The transition from importing completely built units (CBUs) to assembling completely knocked down (CKD) kits sourced from Slovakia makes India the first market outside Europe to locally produce the SUV.

Under the revised pricing structure, the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE is priced at Rs 99 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi, down by Rs 14 lakh from its earlier price of Rs 1.13 crore.

Both the 3.0-litre diesel and 3.0-litre turbo-petrol versions in the same trim are now priced at Rs 1.18 crore, reflecting a Rs 34 lakh reduction from their previous imported price of Rs 1.52 crore.

Deliveries for the locally assembled units are scheduled to begin on November 15, while the Defender 90, Defender 130, and V8-powered models will continue to be imported as completely built units.

Alongside the price reduction, JLR India has expanded the list of standard equipment across the locally built models.

The 2.0-litre petrol version now includes previously optional features valued at up to Rs 6.5 lakh, such as adaptive off-road cruise control, electronic air suspension with adaptive dynamics, three-zone climate control with cabin air purification, a front centre console refrigerator, and 14-way electrically adjustable heated and cooled front seats.

The 3.0-litre petrol and diesel variants incorporate standard features previously valued at up to Rs 17 lakh, including 20-inch alloy wheels, an electronic active differential with torque vectoring, illuminated metal treadplates, a Meridian surround sound system, a head-up display, and heated third-row seating.
