The much-anticipated trailer for Shanaya Kapoor’s debut series, ‘Student of the Year: After Dark,’ has been unveiled, taking audiences back to the familiar, yet now darker, corridors of St.
Teresa’s. This new iteration of the popular franchise introduces a gripping murder mystery, shifting the focus from mere competition to a high-stakes investigation.
The series centers on the mysterious death of St. Teresa’s ‘queen bee,’ Aayesha Malik, played by Shanaya Kapoor. Her twin sister, Aditi, also portrayed by Kapoor, refuses to believe it was an accident. Driven by a quest for truth, Aditi infiltrates the school and enters the fiercely competitive Student of the Year contest. There, she discovers that Aayesha’s closest friends were also her fiercest rivals, each with a motive.
Shanaya Kapoor shared her experience, stating, “Playing Ayesha and Aditi has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences for me. The series takes a much-loved franchise into an unexpected and new territory, where the stakes go far beyond competition.” Director Reema Maya added that the show explores “the relentless competition that our youth find themselves grappling with,” and how the need to succeed can become all-consuming.
Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment and directed by Reema Maya, ‘Student of the Year: After Dark’ is set to premiere on JioHotstar on November 13th. The trailer promises a blend of ambition, rivalry, and a compelling whodunit, offering a fresh perspective on the ‘Student of the Year’ universe.
